What is the on-the-fly aggregation?
'On-the-fly' aggregation feature is a simple calculation functionality available directly into the dataset viewer inside the particular dimension - measure. Fly calculations are helpful when you need aggregated data no matter what the data is and help to see preliminarily data aggregations. This feature is available only for flat datasets where you are able to aggregate the data promptly inside the measure dimensions
How to use on-the-fly aggregation?
There is an example dataset where mentioned feature is available:
There are several “fly” calculations to aggregate or isolate needed data:
Sum - all the data/values is summarized for a particular indicator
Avg - average value of all data as a whole through time
Min - minimum value in the all sample
Max - maximum value in the all sample
Count - the number of values for a particular indicator
How does the aggregation work?
There is an example with measure calculation:
The graph shows the average air pollution for chosen Regions through time (there is no need to choose the indicators in all other dimensions as it is a flat dataset. In case to see the average data for a particular City you should just choose City in the appropriate dimension without Country).
