How to add notes/hierarchy to a flat dataset?

If you have not uploaded flat datasets before, read firstly the following article: 'How do I prepare a flat dataset?'.

To add notes follow these steps:  

1. Add a column named Note to the worksheet for each indicator Name.
2. When you upload the dataset, set Type as “text” and Status as “dimension” for the fields using notes.
3. Also, select the name of the dimension you want to add notes to in the Grouped to section (as property).  

Add hierarchy: 

If your dataset implies to have a hierarchy, you have to add a column for parent and for child. Hierarchy may include more than 2 levels, in this case, add a separate column for each. 

After you've prepared your dataset file, follow these steps: 

1. Go to Upload dataset > Custom upload settings > Upload your file 
2. When you upload the dataset, set Type as “text” and Status as “dimension” for the fields using notes.
3. Also, select the name of the dimension you want to add hierarchy to in the Grouped to section (as Hierarchy).  

Then continue upload process.
