This article describes how to manage dataset browser tabs as well as how to limit the topics shown in the data catalog.
Managing dataset browser tabs
The Enterprise data catalog and the data menu on the system include the following tabs for easier navigation: Personal, Topics, Sources, Industries, Search.
You can manage these tabs in Admin > Applications: Data Catalog:
- Reorder - for example, if your system users prefer to use Sources than Topics, you can move it to the first place. Just drag and drop it and Save.
- Hide - you may want to hide Region tab (could be there is no regional data on your system), uncheck the corresponding box and Save.
- Restrict regions - click Change button, select indicators you want to be shown. Save.
Limiting the topics shown in the data catalog
The Enterprise data catalog and the data menu on the system include ‘Topics’ as a means to easily look for relevant datasets.
These topics are controlled by the tags on the datasets. To restrict which topics are available, change the tags on the datasets according to the topics you want to see.
